The Admiral MacCutcheon that Charles Widmore mentions to Desmond was a character from a remake film of the classic, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (by Jules Verne). Adewale Akkinuoye-Agbaje played a character named Cabe Attucks in a remake of the film.
